"On this website you can look at the photowork of me, Maaike de Vries. I am an young enthusiastic photographer with a big passion for horses and photography. My own view of photography and horses results in a unique way of photographing. I did not study photography but learned by practicing, by studying the work of other photographers, but also by looking with a critical eye at my own photos I have learned a lot. I hold quality as very important and I am always improving! The wishes from my clients, in combination with my knowledge from and look at photographing remain as beautiful memories.

I have a lot of experience with horses and since 2003 I have some horses of my own. But my biggest pride came to the stable in 2005: Ginger "O" Jacky. Ginger is a miniature horse and is 34 inches. With this mare I am at the start of a new venture, my own miniature horses stable: MV Miniature Horses. Ginger is an a unique mare who excels in many branches of the equine sport and that is why we participate in several shows and demonstrations.

I use a Canon 50D with a Canon 70-200 mm F2.8 lens for many of the photo sessions. Besides this 2.8 lens I also possess a Canon 75-300 F4.0 and a Canon 18-55 F4.0. Besides these lenses I also use reflection screens. I really love, in combination with the owner of a horse, to bring out the wow factor of a horse!"
